Alan Robinson has over twenty-five years experience working on the regulatory, policy, marketing, human capital and management issues associated with changes in competition within transportation, parcel delivery and postal markets. His clients have included trade associations, transportation companies, postal operators, parcel carriers, shippers, and suppliers to transportation companies and postal operators. He is the author of the blog Courier Express and Postal Observer.

Prior to starting Direct Communications Group, Mr. Robinson was employed by Ernst & Young and provided services to Arthur D. Little, A. T. Kearney, Andersen Consulting, and KPMG Peat Marwick. Mr. Robinson has also assisted Congress as a staff member of both the Congressional Research Service and the Motor Carrier Ratemaking Study Commission.
Mr. Robinson has an undergraduate degree in Mathematics and Political Science from Macalester College and a Masters Degree in Public Policy from the University of Rochester.
Mr. Robinson has published over 40 articles on topics of interest to transportation and logistics industry. He has been a frequent speaker at transportation and postal conferences including presentations at the North American Transportation Employee Relations Association Annual Conference and Center for Research in Regulated Industries conferences on postal economics.
